Here is a tag from Lostvestige that I found quite fitting
What is your favorite Christmas Movie?
Nightmare before Christmas, of course!
Also every year at Christmas the national tv channels shows ”The Nutcracker prince” and also ”Beatrix potter ballet” and they have always been magical for me! (Can you tell I love music?)
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
In Sweden we always celebrate Christmas the 24th.
Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
Sad to day, not really. Our Christmases our quite the same. But one that sticks out is one year we went down to the place where my grandmothers ash is buried. It is like a little memorial garden in the church yard over looking a lake. It was Christmas morning and the ground was covered in snow and it was just so peaceful and beautiful. Maybe a weird memory to have as a favourite for Christmas that is to be about joy and happiness, but it was just so nice to also include grandma even if she is not with us anymore.
Favorite festive food?
My favourite is the gravlax, accourding to wikipedia that is the english term, it is ”raw salmon, cured in salt, sugar, and dill” with Hovmästarsås (a mustard based sause with winegar). Also, of course, christmas ham on crispbread (knäckebröd)
Favorite Christmas gift?
A couple of years ago I got a pink little computer, I was so happy! That was pure happiness!
Favorite Christmas scent?
The smell of the christmas tree! I love it!
Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Here we eat a late lunch. Then we watch Donald Duck at 15:00 and then an older member of the family says ”I need to buy a newspaper” and walks out, then Santa arrives, hand out some presents and then when he has left the family member returns and says ”Oh rats, did I miss santa again?”.
What tops your tree?
Nothing this year… at my mothers house it is usually a toilet roll santa
As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I have always wished for a horse. But apparently Santa has never thought me to have been that nice…
What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
I love the cosyness of christmas! Here in Sweden in winter time the sun rises at 08:00 in the morning and goes down 7 hours later at 15:00. Im not kidding so it is very dark, that is why all the lights of Christmas decorations are so welcome! I also love all the crafting and baking! I love everything about Christmas!
